Charles — CEO

Charles is an accomplished information technology, operations and digital senior executive, having contributed at executive and board level in the area of IT strategy, systems and process development, projects, operations and planning.

Over the past 19 years Charles has managed digital development with clients including McDonalds, HP, BBC, Kelloggs, CocaCola, Volvo, Mitsubishi Southbank Tafe, Queensland Government, Australian Government, Australian Consolidated Press, Stockland, Village Roadshow, Austereo, Suncorp, Kimberley Clark, Intel, DELL (Asia Pacific) and Sony Australia.

Charles has also consulted on organisational efficiency and operations to other digital agencies including Creata, Communicator Interactive, XM Asia, GroupM and EuroRSCG.

Charles established an Internet Service Provider in 1996, which operated 4 years and then was sold. He also founded a home automation, security & surveillance company - Portus - which was awarded a COMET grant from the Australian government, and then went on to be part of a consortium, which was awarded the prestigious Singapore government's IDA Connected Homes grant.

Mel — Head of Digital

Mel Lindquist is a highly regarded media and communications executive with experience in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific markets.

Her creative, solution-focused, strategic planning skills, provides clients with access to ePR, eMarketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), incentivisation and database communication opportunities.

Her skills have been employed by recognisable brands including Austereo Pty Ltd (Triple M Today Network brands), Tribe Enterprises, Australian Radio Network (Sydney and National), Monster.com (Asia Pacific), ABC Radio and the Nine Network Australia.

Mel is body of work has been recognised with a number of industry awards and guest lecturing positions at Griffith University, University of Queensland, Australian Film Television Radio School, Australian Institute of Management, North Sydney Chamber of Commerce and BOND University. She is currently Vice President of the Brisbane Advertising Association and Vice President of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association.

Justin — Technical Director

With a career more than 12 years in the Information Technology industry, Justin continually evolves the technical management, development and the delivery of a wide variety of web based solutions for clients.

Justin now leads the Avalde technical team in everything from Flash and Silverlight scripting to AJAX and the latest in development in Avalde's 3 major technical streams Apache/Mysql/PHP, IIS/ASP.NET/SQL Server, and Websphere/Java/Oracle. Together with a hands-on knowledge of a backend databases and server technologies, Justin provides the experience for leading the development of end-to-end web solutions.Justin now leads the Avalde technical team in everything from Flash and Silverlight scripting to AJAX and the latest in development in Avalde's 3 major technical streams Apache/Mysql/PHP, IIS/ASP.NET/SQL Server, and Websphere/Java/Oracle. Justin's skills were previously engaged by HYRO & Brainwaave Interactive Pty Ltd, where he led his team's delivery of websites and services for Canon Australia / Canon New Zealand, Lion Nathan Australia, Macquarie Goodman, the 'Popstars' website, Australian Institute of Company Directories, RPM Motorsports, Beyond Online, Beyond Vision, Australian Film Commission and New Zealand Film Commission.

James — Creative Director

UK trained designer, James has worked across the UK, Australia and Asia markets for the past 6 years as a Graphic Designer and Creative Manager. His portfolio of work includes digital and print collateral for British Telecom Phonebook, LJ Hooker, Raine & Horne, Century 21, Ray White Real estate agencies as well as skin care brands of Proctor and Gamble including, Head & Shoulders Pantene & Olay.

Matt — Operations Director

Matt has over 3 years experience working as a digital producer on a wide range of projects including websites, Flash sites and applications, mobile applications, and games.

He has successfully overseen the development of many large scale projects from their initial concept to the completed product. This has given him an understanding of a variety of digital technologies, allowing him to work with clients to development new ideas and concepts that fulfill their business requirements.

Prior to joining the Avalde team Matt worked in the UK as a freelance web and Flash developer.

What would you your Super power be?
Time freeze. It would be awesome to walk along the street and see everything freeze!

Who is your real life hero?
My older sister. I learn a lot from her and always look up to her.

Favourite animal? Any type of dogs. I have two at home.

Favourite font? Harry Potter font. It's really unique and fits with the theme of the story very well.

Favourite App?AllRecipes. That's very useful when I'm running out of ideas for cooking.

Steve — Account Director

Steve is an accomplished operation and account management executive.

Originally working with digital video and 3D animation, his ability to quickly pick up new technologies naturally led to the ever changing and evolving field of online digital development.  Steve has experience in managing the development of large spectrum of online projects including e-commerce, Flash/Flex sites and applications, Casual Games, Multiplayer games and applications, corporate intranets and applications, social networking application integration and is always eager to take on the next challenge the online world has to offer.

Steve has managed projects and teams whilst working with companies and clients such as Creata, Marriot Hotels, McDonalds, FKP, Geodynamics, News Limited, ESPN, ACP and Stockland Group.
